July 14 – 21, 2019

A whole schedule bursting with exciting events is awaiting you at the astro-village in honor of the 50th anniversary of the first landing of Man on the Moon. The community of Karneid/Cornedo, the South Tyrolean Planetarium, the "Max Valier" Association of Amateur Astronomers, and the Steinegg/Collepietra Tourism Agency are sponsoring this series of celebrations in order to remind us of the importance of space flight and space science for our future. Cosmonauts and experts, the staff of the South Tyrolean Planetarium, and members of the "Max Valier" Association of Amateur Astronomers will be there to provide support and answer your questions.

8.00 pmr - Mystic night walk to the full moon above the Rosengarten/Catinaccio

Discover the night sky above the Christomannos monument at the foot of the Rosengarten mountain. Astrophysicist Dr. David Gruber will accompany you with exciting stories about the moon landing. 
Departure by bus at 8 pm from Collepietra to the valley station of the Paolina chairlift, ascent at 8.45 pm and hike to the Christomannos Monument.
Around 10.30 pm descent and return to the star village of Collepietra
Costs with bus transfer, chairlift and guided tour: 40.00 €/pers.
