In 2009 UNESCO included the Dolomites in its list of World Heritage Sites for their scenic beauty and their geological and geomorphological importance.

The Eggental Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Dolomites with three natural treasures: the Sciliar-Catinaccio Nature Park, the Latemar and the Bletterbach Gorge

To celebrate the anniversary, various events will be organised in the summer of 2019 under the UNESCO World Heritage designation.
