This recommended circular hike leads through the idyllic landscape around the holiday village of Karersee | Carezza and delights with magnificent views of the Rosengarten | Catinaccio and Latemar. The Rosengarten | Catinaccio and Latemar are two iconic mountain massifs in the Dolomites, which have been part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage since June 26, 2009. They are separated by the Karerpass | Passo di Costalunga, where this circular hike begins. The route first leads along the foot of the Latemar through the Latemar forest, famous for its valuable resonance wood used in instrument making, until you reach the emerald-green Lake Carezza. Along the way, you pass the Mittersee | Lago di Mezzo, which is visible only for a short time in May and June and turns into a meadow for the rest of the year. From Lake Carezza, the hike continues across the suspension bridge, built in 2018 and now one of the highlights of Karersee | Carezza. The path then leads to the wide Frin meadows, where an impressive 360° panorama of the Rosengarten | Catinaccio and Latemar awaits. Surrounded by unspoiled nature, the unique tranquility invites you to pause, relax, and recharge. Finally, the hike returns through the forest at the foot of the Rosengarten | Catinaccio back to the starting point at the Karerpass | Passo di Costalunga.
