A legendary adventure awaits young explorers and nature-loving families at the foot of the Latemar. With “The Secret of the Little Man of Venice”, this unique audio trail leads you deep into a world of Dolomite legends, puzzles and natural magic.
Together with siblings Klara and Toni, your family embarks on a mysterious journey through the forest. It all begins with an old tale about the Latemar puppets – when suddenly a strange little man appears: the Little Man of Venice, straight out of the legend. He’s lost his knife and needs your help! But beware – tricky challenges, hidden clues and even a wicked witch lie ahead.
With the help of a narrated audio story, an adventure booklet, interactive stations, and a free app, children aged 6 to 14 can explore nature playfully and solve puzzles that also contribute to forest reforestation. It’s a hike full of fun, learning, and teamwork.
“The Secret of the Little Man of Venice” is more than just a walk – it’s a magical journey of discovery, where fantasy meets movement and nature awareness. Perfect for families who love to explore, imagine, and create memories together.
The starting point of this audio adventure is at the Ochsenweide gondola upper station in Obereggen (1,552 m). The lower station at 1,550 m is accessible by car or public bus and has ample parking.
From the top station, follow the signs for trail [22] – LATEMAR.PANORAMA, a scenic circular path through alpine meadows and light forest, with stunning views of the Latemar massif.
Along the trail you will find:
Interactive stations with QR codes to launch the story via app
Riddles and tasks for kids to solve
Clear signage with the “Latemar.Adventure” logo
Panoramic viewpoints and rest stops for families
The route is approximately 1.4 km long and takes about 2 hours to complete including puzzle breaks. It’s family-friendly, suitable for trekking strollers, and well-marked throughout.
The hike ends back at the gondola top station, where you can take the lift down. Toilets, dining options and a large wooden playground are available at the station area.
