Wrapped in ice and snow, Lake Karer is almost magical. The circular route offers a stunning view of the snow-covered Dolomites and leads through the quiet Latemar forest.

In its winter attire, Lake Karer has its very own charm. The water surface, which appears so crystal-clear and inviting in summer, transforms in the cold months into a magical world of ice and snow, surrounded by the white Dolomite mountains Rosengarten and Latemar. The long circular route leads from the small holiday resort Lake Karer to the suspension bridge, then past Lake Karer and further into the snow-covered Latemar forest, where you can enjoy the clear mountain air and peace.

The start point is at the Paolina parking lot. From there, take path [6] over the suspension bridge to Lake Karer. After the lake round, continue on path [12] to the Grand Hotel Karersee. From there, return to the starting point on path [6].

Note: Path [12] is not maintained in winter.

- 180 from Bolzano, Birchabruck, Nova Levante, Lake Karer
- 180 from Val di Fassa, Karer Pass
- 184 from Monte Bianco, Petersberg, Nova Ponente, Stenk with transfer to 180 (or: 181 and transfer to 180)
- 184 from Obereggen, Eggen with transfer to 180 (or: 184 and transfer to 180)
- 186 from San Cipriano, Passo Nigra
- 187 from Aica di Fiè, Gummer with transfer to 180 (or: 182 and transfer to 180)
