Directions

From the parking lot at the base station of the Paolina chairlift, you proceed past the St. Joseph chapel via König Laurin Straße through the Karersee holiday settlement up to Nigerstraße just before the Franzin Alm. Then you walk about 500 m along Nigerstraße to the Kaiserstein parking lot. From there, you take trail [9] to trail [1A], which you follow to Ochsenhütte. A short section continues along Nigerstraße again, passing the Restaurant Tschein and returning to the Perlenweg. This trail runs below Nigerstraße to the Nigerpass, where a short detour to Frommer Alm is possible. From Nigerpass, you follow trail [1] to Schiller Hof (permanently closed). To reach Welschnofen, you walk back a little on trail [1] and take trail [4A] at the crossroads, passing Hagner Alm (closed in winter).

Dining options: Franzin Alm, Ochsenhütte, Restaurant Tschein, Frommer Alm.

This hike is also recommended in the opposite direction, starting from Welschnofen (return by chairlift Paolina with ski bus possible).

ATTENTION: Schiller Hof closed due to staff shortage.

- 187 from Steinegg, Gummer with transfer to 180 (or: 182 and transfer to 180)
