This highly recommended circular hike leads through the idyllic landscape around the vacation resort of Carezza/Karersee and offers magnificent views of the Catinaccio/Rosengarten and Latemar. The Catinaccio and Latemar are two iconic mountain massifs in the Dolomites, which have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since June 26, 2009. They are separated by the Carezza Pass, from where this circular hike starts. It first leads along the foot of the Latemar through the Carezza Forest, which is famous for its valuable tonewood for instrument making, to the emerald-green Lake Carezza. On the way, you pass Lake Mittersee, which is only visible for a short time in May and June and turns into a meadow the rest of the year. From Lake Carezza, the route continues over the suspension bridge, which was built in 2018 and is a highlight of the village of Carezza. The route then continues to the extensive Frinwiesen meadows, where an impressive 360° panorama of Catinaccio and Latemar awaits. Surrounded by untouched nature, the unique tranquillity invites you to linger, relax and recharge your batteries. Finally, the hike leads through the forest at the foot of the Rosengarten back to the starting point at the Karer Pass.
