This easy hike through forest and meadow leads hikers to the operated alpine inn Häusler Sam, which is modestly located on a meadow surrounded by forest. A stopover is worthwhile to taste one of the many typical dishes of South Tyrolean cuisine, to rest on the sunbathing lawn, or to admire the many animals like donkeys, cows, or ponies.

Directions

This family-friendly hike starts at the Karer See parking lot, through the underpass and along the right side of Karer See to the hiking path [8], which leads to Obereggen. Follow the Templweg [8] and the signposting "Almgasthaus Baita Häusler Sam". Finally turn right onto path [S-Samweg], which leads to the alpine inn Häusler Sam. The return journey follows the same path. The route is stroller accessible.
From Karer See you reach the alpine inn Häusler Sam after 6.5 km in 1:45 h.

Alternative return:
There is the option to continue hiking for 1 hour from the alpine inn Häusler Sam to Obereggen. For this, simply go back the same way [S-Samweg] to the Templweg [8], turn right onto path [8] towards Obereggen and continue on path [9] to Obereggen. Take the hiking bus 184 back to the starting point.

If you want to hike directly from Karer See to Obereggen, just take the Templweg [8] and then path [9] to Obereggen. Duration: 2 h, 7.2 km.
