Directions

The starting point is at the parking lot of the Welschnofen cable car. At the beginning of the parking lot, right next to the arch, you first follow hiking trail [7] to the first trail junction. From there, the route continues through the forest on trail [3A] and the Nigertal path to the Hotel Rechenmachers Rosengarten. Directly in front of the hotel, trail [15] branches off, which again leads through quiet forest area back into the settlement area of Welschnofen. Afterwards, you hike above the village on trail [5], passing the traditional farms Ratzöhler, Zyprian, Vöstl, and Tschandl, up to the Panoramahotel Niggl. There, you take trail [2], which passes the Charmehotel Friedrich. The following promenade runs on a pleasant gravel path, lined with meadows and old trees, before reaching a narrow, paved road. There, you continue straight on trail [2], pass a few houses, and then turn left onto a meadow path which shortly before the Pension Erna leads onto the main road (Gummererstraße). The way back to the village center and the cable car is along the sidewalk.

Short variant (stroller-friendly):
At the upper end of the cable car parking lot, cross the bridge and pass a playground. At the street junction there, take trail [4A], which later becomes trail [5]. The rest of the route is as described above.
