This walk is a little gem for anyone seeking peace, nature, and a touch of history. Starting from the charming village of Deutschnofen, the path leads through gentle meadows, past traditional farms, into a quiet, pristine landscape. The destination is the secluded St. Agata Church – a simple, venerable chapel on a small hill, surrounded by nothing but nature.
In front of the church, an idyllic rest area invites you to linger. Anyone wishing to open the church door can get the key at the neighboring farm – a silent sign of lived hospitality and trust. The walk is easy but rich in impressions: nature, culture, and silence form a very special connection here.
An ideal route for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle, breathe deeply, and feel the rural soul of South Tyrol.
The walk begins in the village center of Deutschnofen. From here, follow Schloss-Thurn-Strasse slightly downhill and then turn onto trail [5]. This pleasantly leads through meadows and past individual farms to Oberkoflhof.
At Oberkoflhof, turn right onto path [A], which leads directly to the small, secluded St. Agata church. The church itself is usually locked – however, the key can be collected at Unterkoflhof, which is only about a 10-minute walk away.
After a short rest on the cozy spot in front of the church, continue down to Unterkoflhof. From there, a forest road leads back to the village center of Deutschnofen, creating a nice circular walk.
The starting point of the route is easily and conveniently accessible by public transport.
