Obereggen and Ega, the villages in the Dolomites
The most beautiful places in all the land!
Snow-white or lush green meadows, deep coniferous forests and high peaks frame the two localities of Obereggen (1,500 m) and Ega (1,120 m) in the Val d’Ega.
Obereggen – at the source of adventure
The above-mentioned place has even secured a spot in the first row, at the valley station of the Obereggen ski and hiking area! Walking trails, bike tours and even ski lifts running from right outside the door of your hotel, guesthouse or holiday apartment are really just the icing on the Dolomites holiday cake. The Latemar massif and the Latemarium, the evergreen coniferous forests, the mountain pastures – at the very heart of the Dolomiti UNESCO World Heritage Site there are hardly any limits to experiencing skiing, hiking or biking adventures in Obereggen!
Ega: the Dolomites – up close
The little hamlet of Ega, a village of 900 souls belonging to the municipality of Nova Ponente, lies just three kilometres from the Obereggen valley station, in the very heart of the Dolomites landscape. There are Nordic walking tours, bike trails, hiking tours for action-lovers; the St. Nicholas parish church with its Gothic bell tower or the regional capital Bolzano, located just a 25-minute drive away, for culture enthusiasts; and dense forests, majestic peaks, meadows and stunning views for those passionate about the mountains. Lingering a little longer is certainly not difficult in Ega’s hotels, guesthouses, holiday apartments and B&Bs!
