On the other hand, down-and-out cyclists, e-bikers or families can tackle the Eggental classic on an exciting full-day tour in the other direction. Obereggen is the starting point - although it is also easy to get on in the other villages. The route first goes downhill to the Malga Stadlalm and then on to Welschnofen. There the cable car takes over the 550-metre ascent to the Frommer Alm. The route continues uphill to the Karer Pass and then down to the Fassa Valley and Moena. Following the Aviso river, the route leads to the valley station of the Predazzo-Gardonè cable car, which floats up to the Baita Gardonè. At the top, take the chairlift to Passo Feudo (2200m). Once at the top, it's all downhill: to the Ganischg and Zischg alpine pastures, then along the alpine pasture road from the Reiterjoch to the Epircher-Laner alpine pasture and back to Obereggen. The fabulous mountain landscape between Rosengarten and Latemar and the adventure that this tour entails over 34 km and 380 hm are absolutely worth every effort!
The start in Obereggen is followed by a challenging climb of almost 600 metres in altitude to the Satteljoch. From there it's a brisk descent into the Val di Fiemme and along the valley for 10 kilometres before another crisp climb leads to the Karerpass at Moena. At the foot of the Latemar, the tour continues until it leads back to the starting point in Obereggen. On 40 kilometres and 1,550 metres of altitude difference, this route reveals postcard-like alpine pastures and impressive mountain views for cyclists in good shape - as well as culinary refreshment in the huts and colourful route variety along the way.
