Deutschnofen/Nova Ponente in South Tyrol’s Eggental valley

Sunny hours, exciting adventures

Those who wish to be at the very centre of this mountain spectacle should choose a seat in the front row (and a sunny one at that) in Deutschnofen (1,357 metres a.s.l.), South Tyrol’s mountain village with the most hours of sunshine! Vast meadows form the backdrop to this beautiful place, sometimes cheerfully coloured by thousands of flowers, then again clad in tender snow-white. The Alpine plateau and its villages Eggen, Obereggen and Petersberg offer its guests stunning views – and a wonderful holiday feeling. Bars, shops, restaurants, a sports area and all sorts of accommodation await those who enjoy dining out – or getting out and about. Then there is the Obereggen ski area with its pistes, (winter) trails and huts! There are also cross-country ski and snowshoe trails that run from the village, as well as the nearby Thurn Castle, the bike park, the impressive parish church, the “Kirchsteig” adventure trail and the Chapel of St Helena. The regional capital of Bolzano/Bozen too is within easy reach. So there is indeed plenty to see and do in Deutschnofen!
