If you are in the Val d’Ega or on holiday near Bolzano, a visit to the beautiful Lake Carezza, which reflects the Catinaccio and Latemar mountain ranges in the Dolomites, is truly a must! The “Rainbow Lake of the Dolomites” is located in the little village of Carezza, directly below the Costalunga Pass and just above Nova Levante – and you don’t even have to take the car to get there: the lake can easily be reached on foot, by mountain bike, by bus or by lift – from whichever direction you choose!

Lake Carezza is accessible around the clock. The visitor centre, the pedestrian subway and the toilets are open daily from 09.00 am - 5.00 pm.
Lake Carezza is easily and comfortably accessible by public transport.
The South Tyrol Guest Pass, value cards and Mobilcards are valid – single tickets and value cards can be purchased directly on board.

Exclusively for all guests of the member establishments of the Eggental tourist associations, there is the South Tyrol Guest Pass, with which they can use public transport free of charge and without restriction during their stay – in Eggental, throughout South Tyrol and of course to Lake Carezza!
You can comfortably start from Welschnofen with the cable car or from Tiers/Tires with the new cable way, continue with the new cable car König Laurin I to the middle station, then float with the chair lift Tschein to the Moseralm and then hike via trail no. 16 and trail no. 6 over the suspension bridge to the Lake Carezza in just a few minutes on foot. At Lake Carezza, three paid parking areas are available.
Parking Area 1 is located directly at Lake Carezza, while the other two parking areas are situated nearby.

Yes, coaches can reach Lake Carezza at any time. However, there is limited parking for coaches. Find out before you arrive.
Lake Carezza is accessible all year round. In winter, the visitor centre, pedestrian subway and toilets are open from 09.00 am - 5.00 pm. The car park and the circular walk around Lake Carezza are accessible.
There are free toilets in the passage of the visitor center, which are open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Lake Carezza is a protected natural monument and in order to preserve and protect its beauty for a long time, we ask you not to exceed the protection limits around Lake Carezza and to treat nature with respect. As the Lake Careza is a protected nature reserve, bathing and swimming in it is also strictly prohibited – also ice skating in winter.
There are a total of 4 reserved parking spaces for people with disabilities at the Lake Carezza car park.
At the lake there is a visitor centre with refreshment facilities and a subway through which visitors can reach the lake barrier-free. The viewing platform at Lake Carezza and the circular path around the lake are also accessible without barriers.
The visitor centre of Lake Carezza offers two bistros where hungry explorers can fortify themselves.

Lake Carezza is fed by underground springs from the Latemar mountain range, which is why both its size and depth are highly seasonal and weather-dependent – the greatest depth of Lake Carezza has been recorded at 22 m.
The Christmas magic at Lake Carezza will no longer take place.
Although the market was met with great interest in recent years, it has been overshadowed by insurmountable traffic problems.

Flying drones is not permitted at Lake Carezza due to its nature conservation status and regional protection regulations. The lake is located in a sensitive nature reserve where special regulations apply to protect the flora and fauna. In order to preserve the nature and tranquillity of the area, drone flights are strictly prohibited. Visitors are asked to respect this regulation in order to preserve the natural beauty of Lake Carezza.

Holders of the Mountain Pass can use 17 lifts in the heart of the Rosengarten, Latemar and Schlern/Sciliar any three or five days within a period of seven consecutive days.
