Independent but not stress-free travel to the Eggental valley

You can reach the Eggental valley by car from the A22 Brenner autobahn: from the north, follow Innsbruck-Brennero-Bolzano Nord/Eggental, while from the south follow Verona-Bolzano Nord/Eggental. You can reach the Eggental valley and your accommodation from the Bolzano Nord/Eggental exit in around 20 minutes.

If you are travelling from the north via the Brenner autobahn to South Tyrol, you will need a “vignette” or digital toll sticker for the section running through Austria. These stickers can be conveniently purchased in advance over the internet. To ensure you get across the Brenner pass quickly, it is recommended to pay the toll online in advance, which will allow you to use the specially marked lanes to get through the toll station.

Tolls are payable on most Italian motorways. You can purchase a Telepass from the private service provider Tolltickets and thus avoid the queues at toll stations. The Telepass can be sent to you by post or you can collect it from a pick-up station.

N.B.: in Italy it is obligatory to drive with your headlights on and to carry high-visibility vests in your car.

CO2 emissions
