A family winter in South Tyrol’s Val d’Ega
Big (winter) fun for little rascals
“Snoooow!” - that means children’s eyes as shiny as the white winter’s glory. Snowball fights and snow angels. Jumping into the soft white blanket or whizzing down the hill on a toboggan. Snow equals fun for kids – and that equals joy for parents.
‘Kinderlands’ and ski kindergartens
There is many a way to experience snow! Even more so in the Val d’Ega, among the Catinaccio and Latemar massifs and the Carezza and Obereggen ski areas. The first is regarded as South Tyrol’s top family ski area! The fun starts in the ‘kinderlands’, awaiting winter-loving tots with bouncy castles, kids’ parties and a play room, as well as pistes and ski lifts - suitable for children of course. Parents can enjoy zooming down the slopes on their own, while skiing instructors, nannies, Bruno the Bear, King Laurin & Co. lovingly take care of their little darlings! This is a kids’ winter at its best!
Play, fun, snooow!
And there are plenty of alternative family activities to enjoy away from the pistes too! Tobogganing for example – a true classic for the little winter elves and their parents. Or ice-skating: three ice rinks await skilful ice princesses and princes in the villages of the Val d’Ega! Long (or short) winter walks may be undertaken anywhere – and some of the winter hiking trails are even suitable for baby strollers. By the way, many a weary child has found new strength after well-deserved ‘Kaiserschmarrn’ (sugared pancakes served with cranberry jam) savoured in a ski hut!
Room(s) for families!
It is particularly important for families to find the right holiday accommodation, suiting their specific needs: some simply love the comfort of a hotel, while others prefer the flexibility of a holiday flat. The Val d’Ega offers both – and much more besides: farm holidays, private landlords, cosy guest houses… A tailor-made family holiday!
