Circular hike from the Kaiserstein parking lot to the Christomannos Monument
This circular hike leads from the Kaiserstein parking lot through forest and mountain meadows up to the Christomannos Monument at the Rosengarten. The 2.70-meter tall and 350 kg heavy monument was erected in honor of Theodor Christomannos (1854–1911). He is considered a pioneer of tourism in South Tyrol and was particularly committed to the expansion of the transport network, including being a driving force in the expansion of the Great Dolomites Road Bolzano–Cortina–Toblach, the Vinschgau railway, and also in the construction of the Grand Hotel at Karerpass. Soon after his death, the imposing monument was erected at the foot of the Rosengarten – with a view of the majestic backdrop of the Latemar, which makes the location a very special excursion destination.
