Hike with breathtaking views

Following in the footsteps of Theodor Christomannos, this hike leads to the monument in the Rosengarten, which is dedicated to his legacy. The imposing bronze eagle rises majestically against the backdrop of the Latemar.

The hike starts at the “Kaiserstein” car park and leads along paths [1A] and [548] to the Roda di Vael | Rotwand hut and Pederiva hut at the foot of the Rotwand | Roda di Vael of the Rosengarten | Catinaccio. Continue along the high-level path and then the Masarè path to the imposing bronze eagle, the monument to Christomannos with breathtaking views of the wild Latemar massif. Continue along path [539] to the Paolina hut and then follow paths [552] and [6A] down to the Masarè hut. Take the forest path "Masarèweg" back to the starting point.

Short variant: Take the Paolina chairlift up to the Paolina hut (2125 m), from where the short and easy hike starts. From here, the trail [539] leads to the Christomannos monument and to the Roda di Vael | Rotwand hut and Pederiva hut. The way back is the same as the outward route.
