This challenging mountain hike leads right into the impressive mountain scenery of the Rosengarten | Catinaccio. Surrounded by striking rock faces, high-alpine passes and the unspoilt Tschamin Valley, the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site reveals its wild and varied character.
The tour starts in Welschnofen | Nova Levante with a gondola ride up into the Rosengarten | Catinaccio mountains. Trail [550] leads to the Tschagerjoch | Passo delle Coronelle at 2,630 metres. The route then passes the impressive Preuss and Vajolet mountain huts, spectacularly situated beneath the steep rock faces of the Rosengarten | Catinaccio. Crossing the Grasleiten Pass | Passo Principe at 2,599 metres, you eventually reach the Grasleitenhütte | Rifugio Bergamo before beginning the descent through the unspoilt Tschamin Valley.
On the way towards Tiers | Tires, impressive mountain views alternate with peaceful landscapes. The Tiers Cabrio cable car and the Welschnofen | Nova Levante gondola eventually take hikers back to Welschnofen | Nova Levante. The 16.6-kilometre route involves around 812 metres of ascent and 1,014 metres of descent. Allow approximately 8 hours of walking time for this challenging tour; sure-footedness is required on some sections.
Directly from the village centre of Welschnofen | Nova Levante, the gondola takes you up into the mountain scenery of the Rosengarten | Catinaccio. From the mountain station, follow mountain trail [550] towards the Tschagerjoch | Passo delle Coronelle (2,630 m). The challenging trail begins with short, cable-protected climbing sections along a rocky ridge. It then continues uphill through the impressive rocky landscape of the Rosengarten | Catinaccio, with some sections secured by wooden walkways and wire cables. Along the way, wide-ranging views of the surrounding Dolomite peaks open up before you eventually reach the Tschagerjoch | Passo delle Coronelle, with its impressive panorama of the high-alpine mountain landscape and the Vajolet Valley.
From the Tschagerjoch | Passo delle Coronelle, follow trail [541]. The trail leads through the rugged rocky landscape of the Rosengarten | Catinaccio and past imposing Dolomite rock faces. The well-known Preuss and Vajolet mountain huts are spectacularly nestled among the mighty rock formations and invite you to take a short break.
Then follow trail [584] towards the Grasleiten Pass | Passo Principe (2,599 m). The trail climbs through impressive alpine scenery to the pass. From there, continue along trail [11] and then [3A] to the Grasleitenhütte | Rifugio Bergamo. Here the descent through the unspoilt Tschamin Valley begins. Trails [3A] and [3] lead further downhill to Tiers | Tires. From there, the cable cars eventually take you back to Welschnofen | Nova Levante.

Challenging mountain hike in high-alpine terrain. The tour is rated as difficult; sure-footedness and appropriate hiking footwear are required on some sections. Due to the length of the route and the elevation differences, sufficient time should be allowed for the entire tour.
