This relaxing panoramic hike begins in the village center of Deutschnofen and leads through sunny meadows and fields to the historic church of St. Helena. Along the way, hikers are treated to sweeping views of the Latemar, Rosengarten, Schlern, and—on clear days—even the distant Alps. The landscape is peaceful and open, perfect for those seeking tranquility in nature. A cultural gem awaits at the destination: the Gothic church of St. Helena, home to some of South Tyrol’s finest medieval frescoes. Right next door, the Kreuzhof farm offers traditional refreshments. This hike is ideal for those who enjoy scenic landscapes and cultural treasures in equal measure.
The hike begins in the village center of Deutschnofen (1,357 m). From there, walk out of the village toward Hotel Pfösl. Just past the hotel, turn left onto trail [P], which leads through open meadows with beautiful views to the Church of St. Helena.
Right next to the church is the Kreuzhof farm tavern, a great place for refreshments. The church is open year-round and is renowned for its Gothic frescoes.
For the return route, you can retrace your steps or take the forest road that leads to the main road. Follow the sidewalk back into the center of Deutschnofen.
