Short winter hike from Frommer hut to Messnerjoch mountain hut

The hike starts at Frommer Alm hut (1,743 m), which can be reached by the Welschnofen | Nova Levante cable car, by bus or by car.

From Frommer Alm hut, take the König Laurin 1 cable car up to the middle station at around 2,000 metres. From there, follow the groomed winter hiking trail [1B] towards the Messnerjoch mountain hut. After passing through the pedestrian underpass, continue to the Messnerjoch mountain hut (1,930 m).

For the return journey, follow the same route back through the pedestrian underpass. Then continue along the groomed winter hiking trail [1B] and onto trail [15], which is also groomed and leads downhill through the forest. Follow the route alongside the magic carpet lift to return to the starting point at Frommer Alm hut.
