Amateursportverein Deutschnofen
So the skiers were the driving force for the foundation of a Deutschnofen sports club. On 7 March 1963, about 30 people present at the Hotel Erika - practically at the same time as the opening of the ski lift - founded a club called "Skiclub Weißhorn". And although the name was different, it was the birth of the ASV Deutschnofen. The founding president was Hans Gibitz.
Just one year later, in 1964, some students founded a Deutschnofen football team, and gradually the people of Deutschnofen began organised activity in other sports as well. It was only logical that the "Skiclub Weißhorn" was renamed the "Sportverein Deutschnofen" in 1970. For the club this was finally the starting signal for a rapid development. In spring 1971 the football section was founded, followed in autumn by the volleyball and tobogganing sections. Gradually, other sections were added.
Today the amateur sports club Deutschnofen has around 712 members and ten sections.
