Directions

The hiking trail begins directly at the Maria Weißenstein Monastery (1,520 m), Tyrol’s largest pilgrimage site. Trail [S] and hiking trail [E5] take you via the Kösertal valley and trail [5] to the peak of the Weißhorn mountain (3 h). Return via the Jochgrimm Pass on trail [1], which continues to the Neuhütt Alm Alpine farm (a working farm), and through the Kösertal valley back to the Maria Weißenstein Monastery (3 h), which is well worth a visit. Numerous votive tablets demonstrate how, for centuries, the devout have sought refuge and mercy from the Mother of God in times of worry or distress.
