The Grotthof is surrounded by green forests, lush meadows and a special tranquillity above the village of Eggen in Val d'Ega in South Tyrol. The Pichler family, who have been running the farm for generations, welcome you to the Grotthof and are happy to let you immerse yourself in their world. At the Grotthof, the clocks tick a little differently: more deliberately, more consciously and more intensely. Here, traditional influences meet modern accents, the spirit of innovation meets history and hard work meets a lot of heart.
In addition to its 90-hectare spruce forest, which has been the main source of income for generations, the farm is surrounded by untreated meadows with rare plants and grasses. Feeding the animals with nutritious grasses and home-grown hay, carefully cultivating vegetables and herbs in the garden and living in harmony with and respecting the unique natural environment: this is how we live the organic concept. The Grotthof has been a certified organic farm since 2020.
