The storm night Vaia heavily affected the Latemar forest – providing the setting for an extraordinary adventure for families with children: “Vaia’s Wrath” is a gripping audio drama hike centered around courage, solidarity, and environmental awareness.
Together with the siblings Toni and Klara, you set out to search for the missing calf Peppi, who disappeared from the farm after the storm. But the path through the wind-scarred landscape is not easy: fallen trees, rushing streams, and tricky tasks challenge the entire family.
With the help of an audio drama, a free app, puzzle stations, an adventure booklet, and interactive games, this hike becomes an exciting nature experience for children aged 6 to 14 – and for all who want to experience the power of nature up close. Along the way, you even collect points for the reforestation of the forest.
A hike that moves you – in the truest sense of the word!
The starting point of the hike is the mountain station of the Ochsenweide cable car in Obereggen at about 1,552 m. From there, the path [9] – LATEMAR.ALP leads towards Mayrl Alm.
Follow the well-marked route with the Latemar.Adventure logo. The trail is a circular route about 2.5 km long, and the hike takes around 2 hours including play and puzzle breaks.
Along the way, you can expect:
QR codes to start the audio drama sections
Puzzle and experience stations for children
Lovingly designed hints about the story
Spots to pause with a view of the landscape marked by Storm Vaia
At the end of the loop, you return to the mountain station. There you will also find toilets, dining options, and a large playground.
