Cultural Meeting: Two Communities in Dialogue – Nova Levante and Fassa
On Saturday, 4 July 2026, the Grand Hotel Carezza will host a special cultural meeting dedicated to the exchange between Welschnofen and Val di Fassa. Entitled “Welschnofen – Val di Fassa: Two Communities in Dialogue”, the event focuses on the shared cultural roots, traditions and historical connections between these neighbouring communities.
Following the opening greetings from representatives of Welschnofen and Val di Fassa, visitors can look forward to a series of engaging talks on local culture, history and language:
Ulrike Kind will explore the roses of the Rosengarten/Catinaccio in German-language South Tyrolean poetry and Ladin legends.
Fabio Chiocchetti will discuss Ladin place names, historical relationships and connections between Val di Fassa and South Tyrol.
Karin Pattis will provide insights into life in the mountain region of Welschnofen during the 16th century.
The event will be accompanied by musical performances from the Singkreis Welschnofen and the Musega da Vich. A small refreshment reception will follow the presentations.
