The South Tyrolean Association of Volunteer Fire Departments (Landesfeuerwehrverband Südtirol, LFV Südtirol) was founded in 1955. All the volunteer fire brigades of the province are represented in the regional association by the nine district associations; the regional association represents all the volunteer fire brigades of the province externally and runs the regional fire brigade school.
