The fourth stage of the Perlen Loop Trail offers a rich variety of landscapes and unforgettable alpine moments. Starting in Obereggen, the trail winds through lush meadows, past traditional mountain huts, and into peaceful high-mountain terrain. The climb to the Reiter Joch is rewarded with sweeping views of the surrounding Dolomite peaks – a true highlight for nature lovers.
From there, the route gently descends through forest paths and sun-drenched clearings, leading to the welcoming village of Deutschnofen, where accommodation and rest stops await. This stage is ideal for experienced hikers seeking authenticity, panoramic views, and a deep connection with the mountains – a true gem of the trail.
Stage four begins in Obereggen. From the village centre, follow trail [9] uphill, passing by the scenic Eggental alpine pastures. The trail gradually ascends through open meadows and light woodland until reaching the Reiter Joch (Passo di Pampeago), offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding Dolomites.
From Reiter Joch, continue southward on trail [9] until you reach the Lavazè Pass. At the pass, switch to trail [2], which gently descends through forest and meadow landscape to the Neuhütt Alm, a great spot for a rest.
Afterwards, follow trail [1] toward Deutschnofen. This path continues mostly downhill through peaceful woodland. Once in Deutschnofen, you'll find several accommodation options and a bus stop for return or onward travel.
