E5 from Colle | Kohlern to Nova Ponente | Deutschnofen: stunning views, forest and meadow trails, Totes Moos biotope.

From the valley station of the Kohlern cable car, the E5 trail continues up to Colle | Kohlern with magnificent panoramic views. Passing through Bauernkohlern and Herrenkohlern, the route follows forest roads to the Totes Moos biotope.

Through varied forests and meadows, and past Wölfl farm, hikers reach the stage destination in Deutschnofen | Nova Ponente.

Directions

Along the E5 trail via the Schneiderwiesen restaurant to the Totes Moos biotope and onward to the viewpoints Rotstein & Rotwand.
Then follow the forest trail to Wölflfarm (approx. 1 h) and continue on the E5 to the village center of Deutschnofen | Nova Ponente.

How to get there

Brenner (A22 Brenner Motorway, toll road) – motorway exit Bolzano North – continue towards Bolzano city centre – follow signs for Ritten / Kohlern – after approx. 3 km turn right to the Kohlern cable car – continue to the parking area at the base station (approx. 10–15 minutes from Bolzano North exit).
