Family fun in the Eggental

Summer at last!

Mountains always add a bit of excitement to a family holiday. But the Dolomite mountains will make them thrilling beyond compare! A summer in the Val d'Ega may be relived again and again! Yes, the holidays are here. School's out at last, the kids are at home – and so the family goes away! To the lakes, to the seaside – or to the mountains. You'd be hard pressed to find a place offering more adventure, untamed nature, views and insights. Letting off steam, unwinding – or the other way round. High up on a mountain peak or at least as close as you can get! The prospect of stopping off at a hut and enjoying a yummy 'Kaiserschmarrn' dessert will help even the most reluctant little walkers to get a move on.   We have a list of things that make the Val d'Ega the place to be for all the family in the summer!

For advance planners

The Val d'Ega's family programme begins with A for adventurous torchlit hikes and is still not over with T for taster climbing courses! What about P for pony riding? Or E for exploring the farm? Let alone I for Into the woods. Or L for Latermarium and its dolls. What with the various activities and the fascinating legends that abound, there's something for active as well as more laid-back kids. Complete holiday package inclusive.

For taster riders

Just in case you were thinking that adventures involving animals stop with the riding stables, families may admire the Dolomites on the back of an alpaca or a llama, too. From getting to know each other to trekking in rocky terrain!

For lovers of bends

We bet you won't have seen a toboggan run in summer! And far away from any glaciers! In the Val d'Ega there's one: one more reason to spend your family holiday between the Catinaccio and Latemar mountains. You can toboggan down through lush green meadows! Alpine Coaster will have little daredevils and their parents speeding down a run covering one kilometre of mountain meadow at 40 km/h! At a respectable 1,650 metres above sea level. Now, that's a mountain experience!

For little monkeys

If your kids love climbing up the fruit tress in the garden, and start to get restless at the sight of a swing, then they can have the adventure of their lives at Obereggen high rope garden! A total of 25 routes await little monkeys of all shapes and sizes.

For brainboxes

If only fun could be combined with learning! It can, here in the Val d'Ega. More than any other themed trail, the Latermarium teaches families interesting things about the natural world in the Val d'Ega and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Dolomites!

For listening ears

Simply listen in, spellbound and all agog. For the Dolomites are the stuff of legends! From the Dwarf King Laurin and his Rose Garden to the mermaid of the Lago di Carezza and the Latemar dolls – this is the scene of some legendary goings-on that will add a touch of mystical spice to an excursion...

Yes, the Val d'Ega. It is full of exciting, relaxing, legendary tales! In fact, it writes them. You can too!
