Observation evening at the observatory
The 'Max Valier' observatory in San Valentino di Sopra/Obergummer offers the opportunity to admire the heavenly bodies of the night sky with various telescopes. The observatory's main telescope is a Cassegrain reflector telescope with a mirror diameter of 80 cm. It is supported by a steel fork mount on a solid concrete base. The observatory is run by the 'Max Valier' astronomers. Each guided tour usually includes a short introduction to astronomy. Afterwards, everyone has the opportunity to admire different celestial bodies of the respective evening with telescopes.
Car and minibus: Brenner highway exit Bozen, Bolzano/North, via the state road to Kardaun/Cardano, turn off into the Eggental/Val d'Ega, until shortly before Birchabruck/Ponte Nova, turn off to Gummer/San Valentino, from Gummer/San Valentino follow the signs. Cars, minibuses and coaches: Brenner highway exit Bozen,Bolzano/North, via the state road to Blumau/Prato all'Isarco, turn off to Steinegg/Collepietra, from Steinegg/Collepietra follow the signs.
