A mighty landslide long ago created a mysterious world of rock at the foot of the Latemar. This adventurous hike begins at the mysterious Karer See and leads through the Karerwald, famous for its valuable sonorous wood used in instrument making, past the Mitterleger viewpoint into the Latemar rock labyrinth. There you pass bizarre rock formations, narrow gorges, and rocky passages, where you sometimes need to use your hands for support. From the labyrinth, there are repeatedly spectacular views of the Latemar and the Rosengarten. A hiking experience full of discoveries and adventure.
The route leads from Karer See along the forest road [11] to Mitterleger. From here you continue on the labyrinth path (trail [20]). At the trail junction turn left onto trail [18] and then follow trail [21], which leads to Mitterleger. The return route follows trail [11] back to Karer See.
